9 HR Appeal - NOR is going up on website today

Hi everyone

Well, we are off to a good start this year.  The Hunter Provincials were successful and Club members acquitted themselves very well.  The SAS KZN Christmas Regatta was a resounding success and SAS KZN have confirmed that they would like this to become an annual event, which is a feather in our cap!

Our next major event is the Quantum HMYC 9-Hour Endurance Race which is to take place on Saturday 26 February.  We are very pleased to inform you that Quantum Sails have once again offered to be our leading sponsor, and we are very grateful to Craig and Taryn Millar for their continued support.

We are appealing to anyone who is not sailing to step forward to assist in the many duties that take place on and before the day.  Just to name a few:

·         Setting up of the club on the Friday, demarcation of parking areas etc.
·         Registration on Friday evening and Saturday morning – minimum of 5 people required
·         Recording in 2-hourly stints in the recording tent – minimum of 15 people required
·         Co-ordinating of the camping, collecting money, reconciliation thereof – preferably two people to work together
·         Directing traffic and parking
·         Moving of members boats out of the sailing channel, and back on to their moorings on the Sunday
·         Selling T-shirts
·         Managing skipper change over forms

Please could you contact Jean Wagner on wagtails@mweb.co.za if you can assist with any of the above.
We also need a lot of PRIZES.  The success of an event is often measured by the prize giving.  Please could you consider donating prizes to the event.
A copy of the NOR is attached.  Please could you let me know if you have any queries.

Thanks
Dave Wagner
